Alfred Lodge is named after King Alfred the Great who created the ‘Burgh of Brydian’ establishing the town as a burgh in the 9th century. The development offers the best of both worlds - a peaceful green corner right in the heart of town. Situated adjacent to Bridport Millennium Green, it benefits from stunning views yet is also well located for the bustling High Street, which is home to a number of independent family-run shops, well-known high street stores and a popular street market.
Bridport lies around a mile from the coast at West Bay, a charming fishing village on the famous Jurassic Coastline, with large stretches of shingle beaches either side of a small harbour with pleasure crafts and fishing boats. The South West Coast Path, the longest National Trail in the country passes along the cliffs at West Bay and is perfect for an afternoon stroll, enjoying the far-reaching views across the Devon Coastline and observing the local wildlife.
