Lionel Blair cuts the ribbon at new Shaftesbury retirement development

TV personality Lionel Blair joined local retirees recently to officially open Churchill Living’s new Hardy Lodge development in Shaftesbury.

The showbiz icon visited the retirement development on Thursday 28th March to officially cut the ribbon, and share anecdotes and stories from a career which has spanned over seven decades. Like Churchill, the veteran TV entertainer and dancer feels that the retirement years should be anticipated in a positive way.

He said:

These days, older people can do anything, it doesn't matter what their age is. Older people have so much wisdom to pass onto the young, growing older is something to be celebrated. I was delighted to be asked to open Hardy Lodge, I enjoyed speaking to everyone and it was an honour to cut the ribbon. Over the years I’ve seen first-hand how the Churchill lifestyle can have such a positive effect on people’s health and wellbeing, from living in a modern, warm apartment to having a friendly community around them. It was great to meet the new Owners now calling Hardy Lodge home and hear so many positive things from them.

Hardy Lodge is a collection of 42 one and two bedroom privately owned retirement apartments and shared facilities, designed exclusively for the over 60s. Offering quality retirement accommodation and safe and independent living, the development is in a convenient location close to local shops and amenities.
