Suella Braverman MP meets local retirees enjoying a new lifestyle at Beck Lodge in Park Gate

Churchill’s Beck Lodge development in Park Gate welcomed local MP Suella Braverman for coffee, cake and a taste of the retirement living lifestyle with its community of apartment Owners on Friday 11th March.

The local MP spent the afternoon chatting to Owners, and was given a tour of the development by Churchill’s Chairman & CEO Spencer McCarthy, Regional Managing Director James Barnes, and apartment Owner Maddie Dougal.

Speaking about the benefits of retirement housing, Suella Braverman said: “I was pleased to be asked to visit the new Beck Lodge development in my constituency, and it was very interesting to speak to apartment Owners about their new life there.

“I’ve made clear in Parliament that we need more options for people who might wish to downsize as they get older and retirement properties like these at Churchill’s new Beck Lodge are a crucial part of helping to meet that challenge and in turn creating more movement in the housing market generally.  Specialist retirement housing is proven to have a very real, beneficial effect on older people’s health and wellbeing and exactly the sort of thing responsible councils are making sure is part of their housing delivery.”

Beck Lodge is located near the heart of Park Gate, close to the shops, restaurants, and other leisure activities on offer in the town centre, and perfectly located for local transport links. The Lodge comprises 46 private, self-contained apartments with spacious rooms throughout, considerately designed with the over 60s in mind, and a warm, comfortable Owners’ Lounge.
