Churchill apartment Owners in Taunton were delighted to welcome local MP Rebecca Pow to a special King’s Coronation Tea Party at Riverain Lodge recently to celebrate the official crowning of His Majesty King Charles III.
The event took place on Friday 5th May with visitors treated to music, fizz and refreshments to get the celebrations underway for the historic Coronation weekend. Special King’s Coronation ‘goody bags’ were handed out and there was also the opportunity for Rebecca and other visitors to meet the apartment Owners and hear about the new lifestyle they’re enjoying.
Rebecca Pow MP commented: “I was delighted to be asked to join the Owners at Riverain Lodge for their Coronation Tea Party celebrations, it was a wonderful occasion which everyone enjoyed. Specialist retirement housing like this is proven to have a beneficial effect on older people’s health and wellbeing, be it from being in a modern, warm, well insulated home to having a sense of community which helps to beat loneliness. It was great to meet some of the new community now calling Riverain Lodge home, and to hear how much they are enjoying their new lifestyle there.”
Churchill’s Marketing Executive Jo Ridehalgh added: “We loved welcoming everyone to our special Coronation Tea Party to get the celebrations under way for a piece of national history that few of us have experienced before. It was a great way for Rebecca and everyone else to see for themselves the wonderful community atmosphere on offer here.”
