Ahead of its launch in Spring 2024, Churchill Living’s new development in Cranleigh has been named Manns Lodge to honour the former department store, Manns of Cranleigh. The store which originally sat next to the new development closed in October 2021 after trading for more than 130 years. It was home to a variety of retail favourites, being extremely popular amongst locals, and the new name honours a Cranleigh landmark which many retirees will remember well.
With the new development set to welcome its first occupants in Spring next year, there is already plenty of interest from local people wanting to downsize and enjoy an independent lifestyle in the heart of Cranleigh. Therefore, Churchill is encouraging interested buyers to get in touch now to avoid disappointment.
Manns Lodge will comprise of a collection of 38 one and two bedroom privately owned apartments with tiled and fully integrated kitchens with built in appliances, a guest suite for family and friends to stay and visit and a beautiful, landscaped garden. Owners who reside at the development will also benefit from a Lodge Manager, free parking and an Owners Lounge to socialise and enjoy as they wish.
Designed exclusively for the over 60s, Manns Lodge will offer safe, low maintenance and independent living close to local shops and amenities. Cranleigh is a vibrant village, reportedly the largest village in England. With a bustling high street featuring a wide range of independent shops, a weekly market and regular attractions such as fun days, classic car shows and markets there really is something the whole community can enjoy.
Anne Scherrer, Regional Marketing Manager at Churchill Living South-East, said: “The closing of Manns of Cranleigh was extremely significant to the village locals, therefore we felt it fitting to name after the popular department store to honour such a poignant venue which will hold fond memories for many. The new apartment development in Cranleigh offers the perfect space for those looking for a home with community feel and we can’t wait to welcome our first Owners in the spring next year.”
