Pupils at Sandcross Primary School in Reigate, Surrey visited Churchill Living’s Colebrooke Lodge recently to get stuck in with rewilding activity alongside Owners.
Ten students from the Pupil Parliament visited the Lodge and got hands on with constructing robin nests, bird boxes and a bug hotel. The children also got to learn about the animals that would use their new homes and the best areas to place them.
Mrs Shaylor, teacher at Sandcross Primary School, said: “It was a great afternoon for the children to visit Colebrooke Lodge and get involved with some of the rewilding activity taking place. Seeing the pupils interact and work with Churchill Owners is always a lovely experience, and watching the cross-generational group work together to encourage biodiversity and learn about the benefits of getting outside in nature highlights just what an important topic this is for everyone”.
Anne Scherrer, Senior Regional Marketing Manager at Churchill Living South East, said: “We were delighted to have the lovely pupils from Sandcross Primary School visit us as they wrap up their summer term. We all know how beneficial getting outdoors and staying active is, so to combine this with a focus on promoting biodiversity in our very own garden has been a lovely experience. Encouraging more wildlife to the Lodge will please our Owners a lot”.
