Churchill Living voted 13th Best Company to Work For in the UK

Ringwood-based Churchill Living has been named in the Top 100 Best Companies to work for in the UK by the Sunday Times, achieving 13th place. The winners were announced at a gala dinner in London on Thursday 23rd February.

The retirement housebuilder once again achieved 3 Star accreditation from Best Companies, the top accolade for excellence in employee engagement, recognising the company as being an ‘extraordinary place to work’.

This is the sixth time Churchill Living has been named in a Top 100 listing, having recently moved up into the mid-size companies category, competing against companies with up to 3,500 employees.

Churchill gained its 13th position in recognition of its most successful year to date, with judges recognising that care for customers and employees is at the heart of the organisation, as well as a strong sense of family, confidence in leadership, and belief that the business is run on sound moral principles.

Spencer McCarthy, Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of Churchill Living, said:

“I’ve always had the philosophy that if you treat people well, and help them feel a true connection with the business, you get a lot more from them. The culture of any company is its lifeblood, and I believe that happy and motivated staff are the key to Churchill’s success.

“To be recognised once again as one of the UK’s Top 100 companies to work for is a fantastic accolade and something every single member of the team can be proud of. For our employees to be so engaged and supportive of our management is a major factor in Churchill’s ability to continue growing, and indeed for every individual who works here to keep growing with us.”

Jonathan Austin, Founder and CEO of Best Companies, said the following about Churchill:

“I’d like to congratulate you on achieving position 13 on The 100 Best Companies to Work For 2016 list. You should be extremely proud of your achievement and the fact that your employees feel Churchill Living is such a great workplace.”

The Sunday Times Best Companies survey has been produced and published annually since 2001 to measure and acknowledge excellence in workplace engagement. It includes an extensive staff survey with questions measuring eight equally weighted workplace “factors” including leadership, my manager, my team, wellbeing, fair deal and giving something back. In addition to the staff survey each company is judged on policies, processes and facilities.
