Ringwood-based retirement housebuilder Churchill Living achieved double success at the WhatHouse? Awards 2017, receiving Bronze Awards in both the ‘Best Medium Housebuilder’ and ‘Best Regeneration Scheme’ categories.
The awards topped off another year of success for Churchill, after it became the first retirement specialist ever to win the overall ‘Housebuilder of the Year’ Award at this prestigious event in 2016.
Now in their 36th year, the WhatHouse? Awards are widely recognised as the “Oscars” of the house building industry and are the biggest and most widely recognised event for the nation's new homes builders. The competition in every category was extremely strong this year. Over 1,700 senior industry figures attended the awards ceremony at London’s Grosvenor House Hotel, which was hosted by comedian Jack Whitehall.
The ‘Best Medium Housebuilder’ category recognises the quality, design and range of Churchill’s developments, assessing all aspects of performance. Success in this category once again underlines the quality of the Company’s Colleagues, values, recruitment and training, sustainability initiatives, marketing, promotional schemes, after sales service and customer care.
The recognition for ‘Best Regeneration Scheme’ was awarded to Churchill’s Mount’s Bay Lodge in Penzance, a development of four commercial units and 51 one and two bedroom apartments enjoying spectacular sea views across the bay to St Michael’s Mount. The site is on a former gas works, which presented a number of challenges, but it was a highly successful regeneration project demonstrating Churchill’s flexible approach and responsiveness to planning authorities and local stakeholders on design detail.
