Churchill Living Supports Debra Charity in Calne

Owners and team members at Orchard Lodge took to the streets of Calne to complete a sponsored walk, raising £100 for DEBRA. In partnership with the DEBRA charity shop in Calne, the dedicated group of walkers set off on Wednesday 19th March, in support of this vital cause.

DEBRA is a UK national medical research charity and patient support organisation for people living with the rare, extremely painful, genetic skin blistering condition, epidermolysis bullosa (EB) also known as ‘butterfly skin’.

Following the walk, participants returned to Orchard Lodge to enjoy a well-earned bowl of soup and fresh rolls, marking the end of a meaningful and rewarding event. Jeremy’s fundraising efforts were further supported by the Churchill Foundation, Churchill’s own charitable organisation, which matched the amount raised through Jeremy’s sponsorship.

Reflecting on the experience, organiser and Senior Sales Executive at Orchard Lodge Jeremy Jacobs expressed his gratitude for the support he received: “It was a fantastic experience and I’m so grateful to everyone who sponsored us. The generosity of our community and the support from the Churchill Foundation will make a real difference to this worthwhile charity”.

The walk followed the Churchill Living Calne walking guide and spanned one mile, showcasing some of the town’s scenic surroundings. The walk explored the town, ticking off local landmarks including the Head Sculpture, St Mary the Virgin Church and The Green as well as Calne Town Hall.
