Twin sisters Shirley Borrett and Audrey James celebrated their joint 85th birthday in style recently with a surprise party in the Owners’ Lounge at Chantry Lodge, Andover, organised by Shirley’s daughter Vanessa and the development’s Lodge Manager Mike.
Since they each moved into their respective Churchill apartments at Chantry Lodge in Andover and St Athelm Lodge in Wells some years ago, both sisters have been making the most of their independence, and despite being in different counties the ‘Churchill twins’ are still as closely connected as ever.
Their 85th birthday was an opportunity to get together with friends and family and celebrate this happy milestone.
Speaking afterwards Audrey said: “Much to our surprise we were thrown a big party on Saturday which my niece was responsible for organising. We had a great time with over 50 guests, including friends from Chantry Lodge and close family. We also received champagne and flowers from Churchill which are beautiful, and Michael the Lodge Manager made a good speech. Thank you from us both!”
Lodge Manager Michael added: “It’s great to see Shirley and Audrey continuing to enjoy the friendship and independence that comes with life at our developments, and it was a pleasure celebrating with them. Here’s to many more ‘identical’ years of health and happiness!”
