Churchill Owners benefit from Nikki and Genna’s entitlements advice

Our experienced Sales Executives Nikki Whyte and Genna Goulty have been busy delivering extra benefits to Customers at Spitfire Lodge in Southampton, quite literally!

The team regularly go the extra mile by providing practical support in claiming the Government’s Attendance Allowance benefit, which is available to many older people to assist with the day-to-day cost of living. Every year millions of pounds goes unclaimed by the over 60s, who often think they will not be eligible to claim the benefit, or are unaware that it is not means tested.

Explaining how it works, Nikki says:

“We often find people don’t even know they’re entitled to it, so even though it’s not a core part of our role we are very happy to walk them through it and help people understand what they’re eligible for and how to apply. You have to complete a form which is over 30 pages long, it’s quite daunting and puts a lot of people off, but we’re very used to going through complicated forms as part of the sales process so our experience comes in very useful. We take the time to sit down with Customers and go through it together one question at a time, and it makes things much easier for them.”

She adds:

“People are often surprised at how much additional income they are entitled to. It can make a real difference for them, and they’ll often use it to pay the service charge on their new apartment, so it’s a win-win!”
