Apartment Owners at Churchill Living’s Rothesay Lodge development in Highcliffe recently enjoyed a visit from the crew at New Milton Fire Station, who conducted their weekly “drill night” and spent time briefing Owners on fire safety.
Lodge Manager Lisa Garwin organised the event with the help of her partner Dean Brooker, who has been a Firefighter for 22 years and is a member of the New Milton crew. The firefighters arrived at around 8pm on Tuesday 14th August and brought both their fire engines fully crewed. The Owners’ Lounge was alive with Owners keen to catch a glimpse of the men and women in their uniforms. Lodge Manager Lisa gave the crew a tour of the building, explaining the fire procedures and showing them the site plans, safe contents, dry risers, and all relevant fire safety information.
Lisa said: “During the tour I had lots of questions to answer and the crew were very keen to absorb as much information as possible about the development. They were also very impressed with our Show Apartments! While I conducted the tour, my partner Dean stayed in the car park with the Fire Engines to man the radio just in case they were called to an incident, and he invited some of the apartment Owner’s to have a tour of the Fire Engines. They really enjoyed the experience! The Fire Crew left around 10pm after enjoying the tea and cake and chatting to the Owners about the Fire Service and fire safety.”
The visit was beneficial to all parties, and in particular the Owners who are safe in the knowledge that the local Fire Crew know our fire procedure and the layout of the building should they ever need to be called.
