Children from Canterbury Road Primary School welcomed the construction team from Churchill Living’s Beatrice Lodge into their school for a special site safety assembly.
Site Manager Nick Hillier visited the school to teach pupils all about safety on building sites, as well as giving them an insight into the day-to-day activities on-site, and into how they build retirement apartments.
Zoe King, Head Teacher at Canterbury Road Primary School, said: “We are extremely grateful to Churchill Living for visiting the school to give a talk during assembly time – it was a great opportunity for the children to discover what workers do on site each day and to ask the Site Manager lots of questions.”
Nick Hillier, Site Manager at Churchill Living’s Beatrice Lodge, said:
It’s so important for children to understand the dangers of playing on building sites, especially when one is in close proximity to their school, so we were pleased that the school were happy for us to pay them a visit. It was wonderful to see how enthusiastic they were listening and learning about how we build the retirement Lodges and all the great questions I was asked at the end. I hope it inspires some of the children to consider a career in construction too!
