East Devon Daytime Brass Band brings festive fun to Sidford retirees

In the run up to the festive period, housebuilder Churchill Living invited special guests the East Devon Daytime Brass Band to entertain apartment Owners and locals with a special Christmas concert at its Lockyer Lodge development in Sidford.

On Wednesday 7th December the development’s Owners’ Lounge was packed for the performance by the 13-strong brass band, who played a variety of festive tunes. With most of the musicians being retirees themselves, their philosophy is to positively encourage older people who may have instruments unused for many years to get them out of the cupboard, join in and have fun.

Churchill provided refreshments for all attendees and made a £75 donation towards the band’s nominated charities Devon Air Ambulance, Devon Freewheelers and the Alzheimer’s Society for Devon & Cornwall.

Churchill Living’s Regional Marketing Executive Jo Ridehalgh said: “We were delighted to welcome everyone to Lockyer Lodge’s special Christmas concert, and we’d like to say a big thank you to the East Devon Daytime Brass Band for their wonderful performance. It was the perfect opportunity for local people to come together with Owners at the Lodge, get into the festive spirit and see what’s on offer here. Events like this are a big part of the fun and sociable lifestyle that comes with a brand new Churchill apartment.”

Lockyer Lodge is located near the heart of Sidford close to shops and amenities, with stunning views, and perfectly located for local transport links. Everything there is considerately designed with the over 60s in mind, including a warm, comfortable Owners’ Lounge where regular social events can now begin to take place once again.
