Forming new friendships is one of the many benefits of moving to a Churchill apartment, and for Julia Sheffield and Patricia Barden this has opened up a world of new adventures since they met each other at Knights Lodge in Lymington. Making the most of being able to lock up and leave their apartments with no worries about security, the pair now go on regular holidays together and have become the firmest of friends.
Julia explains: “I moved to Knights Lodge last year and after a few coffees together in the Owners’ Lounge, Patricia and I got talking and got to know each other. We could not believe how much we had in common! We were both born in the same year, both married in the same year (1961), were both pregnant when we watched England win the World Cup in 1966, and both our children now work in health services!”
Patricia adds: “We would never have met if we didn’t live at Knights Lodge, and I’m so glad we did as we’ve become such close friends.”
The pair’s adventures have taken them all over the UK and they have plenty more plans to enjoy each other’s company on their future travels. Patricia says: “So far we have been on holidays together to Torquay, Wales, and two coach trips to Devon. We are looking forward to many more!”
