New Abingdon retirement development named after town’s royal monument

Churchill Living’s new development on Ock Street in Abingdon has been named Albert Lodge, in a nod to the nearby Albert Park and its monument to Prince Albert which has stood near the heart of the town since 1865.

Construction will commence soon on the new privately-owned apartments, which once completed will provide 39 attractive, high quality, secure, self-contained apartments in landscaped grounds. As with all Churchill Living developments, Owners will have the benefits of a communal Owners’ Lounge, a Guest Suite, a Lodge Manager provided by Millstream Management Services, and a 24 hour emergency call alarm service.

Churchill’s Regional Marketing Executive Deborah Waldeck said:

For every new Churchill development we try to choose a name with a strong connection to the local community. We’re delighted to announce that our new collection of apartments in Abingdon will be called Albert Lodge, a name which we felt would link well with the town’s longstanding connection to Prince Albert. Albert’s many achievements demonstrated how society can benefit from embracing innovation and change, and he was known to approach life with plenty of enthusiasm. We hope Albert Lodge will be a place where local people can also do just that, and enjoy their retirement years to the full.

Like all Churchill Living developments, the location has been chosen for convenience and is just a short walk from local shops and amenities of Abingdon’s town centre, as well as the peaceful green surroundings of Albert Park.
